Falwell Urges Barr to Prosecute Those Who Launched Mueller Investigation

Jerry Falwell, Jr., one of President Trump’s most enthusiastic evangelical boosters, appeared on Breitbart News Sunday and declared that Trump will get an even bigger percentage of the evangelical vote in 2020 than he did in 2016.

According to an exit-poll analysis by the Pew Research Center, 81 percent of “white, born-again/evangelical Christians” who voted in the 2016 presidential election cast their ballots for Trump.

Falwell said that his recent tweet—retweeted by Trump—asserting that the president should get a two-year extension on his presidency due to the “corrupt failed coup” was “tongue-in-cheek,” but added that “somebody needs to pay” for the Mueller investigation. “Somebody needs to be prosecuted,” Falwell said.

Speaking of the two-year investigation that yielded the Mueller report, Falwell said that he hoped Attorney General William Barr will go after the people responsible for “probably the greatest scandal and abuse of power in American history.”
