https://www.local10.com/news/local/miami/american-airlines-flight-lands-safely-in-miami-despite-flat-tire

- An American Airlines flight from Jamaica landed safely Tuesday morning at Miami International Airport, even though one of the wheels on the airplane's landing gear had a flight tire.

American Airlines flight 2370 departed from Kingston, Jamaica, en route to Miami.

What is a flight tire - do these folks proof read these days?

Seriously though, they really don't. I find errors in almost every single article I read these days.

The temperature and pressure changes of repeated flights weakens the structural integrity of the plane’s tires. There are sensors that detect that and warn of an impending failure. When the detector goes off after takeoff that is known in the industry as a “flight tire”.

Then again maybe it is just a typo.

I was just making stuff up and thought the ‘maybe it is just a typo’ made that clear.

I apologize

It could have been transcribed by a speech recognition software or it was a bad autocorrect

Said they flew over the airport once for staff to see the situation and the landing was smooth - they had high praise for the crew. It was covered on local news most of the day.
DOn't forget American actually crashed on landing at Norman Manley about ten years ago - ran off the runway and barely missed the Caribbean sea.
