I used to think that to run for elected office you had to have several qualities.

You know, self respect, stable ego, confidence in your importance and again self respect. The fact that the GOP members of the House and Senate have given over all their rights, votes and whored themselves to Trump proves that I was wrong. They are castrated, weak and probably very very guilty.

That's a feature, not a bug. Perhaps the powers in the Repug party understood, as the Tea Bagger movement began, that if they recruited stupid amoral candidates, they could easily control them when things got interesting. And boy oh boy - they are well beyond interesting.
