I think more people would support impeachment IF

Congress proposed serious legislation at the same time dealing infrastructure, health, wages, education, immigration and other issues that people really care about. The people I talk to who are not liberals by any stretch of the imagination, acknowledge that Trump is a crook and has committed crimes against this country but they are worried about their own futures and the futures of their children. All they see and read about in the news is Trump, Trump, Trump. I think there would be a major change in attitude if Democrats in Congress began proposing legislation that directly affects their lives. I also think that Trump would not know how to handle that.

Pelosi and others keep talking about the fact that they can walk and chew gum at the same time. Let's see some of that. Let's knock Trump off the front page and get people engaged in things that will touch their lives.

I know some will say that taking this approach is hopeless because Trump and the Republicans won't go along but I think that's exactly the point. Show them up, don't just talk about it, do it!

Republicans care not about public education, they only care about grifting government money to pay for their Christian schools. Because everybody knows that public schools are nothing more than liberal endoctrination camps!

And, healthcare is a concern for them only as it applies to them. They hate to give “free healthcare” to “losers who refuse to get a job”.

3. Good point. We should make the point that nothing can be done with Trump in office.

It's not just that he's corrupt. It said he's extremely lazy, and doesn't want to do anything that requires any work but would help the United States. so as long as he's in office, we're not going to have any infrastructure work, we're not going to have any innovation, and we're not going to have any big progress on medical or education.

His lackeys in the Senate won't do anything either as long as he's in there that they have to spend all their time protecting him. So the only way to get America going again is to get him out of office.

... reason to be against impeachment that stands up to the facts.

1. The party of the impeached has never fared well in elections post impeachment process irregardless of senate removal.
2. Clinton increased in popularity after senate refused to convict or remove but the democratic party did not.
3. Donald Trump is a grievance candidate, even if he's not removed by the senate he'll make something else up to whine about.
4. Trump is historically unpopular person

There's a good point in regards to timing of now but impeachment should be inevitable

7. Had this discussion with my Fux-watchin mother in law yesterday.

She asked why, if Dems are so great, they haven't passed any laws to help regular people. I explained that House Dems have passsed multiple such bills, but Senate Repubs and Trump are blocking every single one of them. This appeared to come as a great surprise to her.
