6. Fear and Jingoism

The emotion overrides logic and the jingoism reinforces the idea the we are strong and the might makes right. They are very powerful forces.

During WWII when there was an actual threat to the United States security from Japan and from Germany had they had better success in Europe, I could see the idea of having to support the administration and the troops. It was a win it or die type of war. In every military action since then, it has been bullshit.

Vietnam was NEVER a threat to the US. The argument was the Domino effect, but we know the the North only adapted a communist ideology to enlist the support of the USSR and China to kick out the French and later the US. Communism did not spread all accross Asia like they said.

The action in Afghanistan was supposedly to get Bin Laden then turned into punishing the Taliban, now, were just there. Iraq was over lies about WMDs. Both were manipulations over fear of terrorism without even asking the question about why there was terrorism in the first place.

Fear. And this idea the the US is about spreading democracy. Yes, that is why we support Saudi Arabia in Yemen because Saudi Arabia is a shining beacon of democracy in the Middle East.
