Anybody get the feeling that a lot of Trump Supporters just plainly

hate what America has become. A diversified melting pot of opportunity for all races.( not that we are already totally there yet) They hate the federal government and it's institutions. They hate the fact that Obama was a 2 term president and was beloved. They hate that by 2042 white Americans will be in the minority. If the Mueller Report had concrete evidence that Trump was a Russian spy they would still vote for him over a Democrat They have lost their souls and morals and now they have lost theirs minds. What a sick thought. What a divided country we are. Somebody wake me up from this bad dream.

H Clinton, the day after her comment said she regrets saying half."

"To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables," Clinton said. "Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."
She added: "And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric."
Clinton then said some of these people were "irredeemable" and "not America."
She described the rest of his supporters as people who are looking for change in any form because of economic anxiety and urged her supporters to empathize with them.

But, I'm 100% sure they sit on the sofa with Fox News playing all day.
Okay, I'll leave it at ONE neighbor.
The other one seems like a "nice enough guy," but when I went to his garage to have a beer, I saw he had a confederate flag plate (hidden from view of outside—and he was born /raised in California), and kind of looked at me like "wink-wink." So, he's out. I've avoided him since.
But I think Fox News brainwashing accounts for a lot of these people who aren't racist haters.

It is about Trump supporters, right wingers, who are suffering and dying from Republican policies.

The sickest vignette from it is this guy in TN who is dying of cancer, but doesn't support expanding medicaid because he doesn't want minorities to get it. Seriously. I'm having a real hard time getting my head around that profound level of selfishness.

Someone willing to suffer and die because they don't want a person of color to have the same benefit that could save their own life.

Sigh.

fox, think of it as the cartoon cliff notes for talk radio.

biggest political mistake in history is democrats ignoring talk radio the last 30 years - 1500 think tank coordinated radio stations spewing lies.

if republicans paid $1000/hr, 1200 radio stations x 15 hrs/day are worth about $5bil/year FREE for the cons. UNCHALLENGED. and there's evidence the kremlins been using it at least a decade.

just listen to a little bit of the talk radio point man for trump, limbaugh, who plays golf with him and is his neighbor, and who trump wouldn't be anywhere near the white house without, that's on 600 radio stations and with 1000 other stations all parroting the same crap it should not be a surprise at all

it is fucking ridiculous that media and political orgs continue to poll his support for fox and never talk radio

It's at work, it's at your neighbors, it's at the hardware store, the doctor's office, you can hear it as you walk through the park.

It is remarkably coordinated, 24/7, same message repeated over and over, through a dozen different hosts.

These are not people who seek out information. Most have never read a book, never looked beyond their own home, family, livelihood. Never doubted their religion or their parent's teachings. They will all watch the Super Bowl, none will watch a debate.

They will follow the consensus opinion. The opinion they hear every day. They will not bother to question or search for other truths. They will take what is pushed at them. And WE, the Democrats, the liberals. will argue minutia amongst ourselves on web sites they will never see.

when you say:

as you say they're basted with team limbaugh and they reinforce it among themselves. thing is, would they be as ignorant and racist if there was a thom hartman or rhandi rhodes or ed schultz available on one of those radio stations they could reach while working and driving?

imo that's a major part of the problem - that there was and is no choice - in most parts of the country there are NO choices

by the time it gets to TV where there is some choice, anything but fox is the librul media. authoritarians need and are drawn to the certainty and it has been a huge mistake that democrats didn't challenge talk radio more than they did, with people living in cities doing all the analysis and management of party and orgs.

even now they ignore the part it played in the trump disaster, that there's evidence the russians have been using it for a decade or more, that the trump team studied talk radio in 2014 while russian trolls were getting lists "of topics to write about".

what would happen to that massive unquestioning secondary and tertiary audience who've been hearing the bullshit repeated by patriarchs and matriarchs etc for years when they find out one of investigations is about russia using talk radio, maybe limbaugh and hannity getting paid laundered money through trump or elsewhere, and maybe russians calling into shows, that russians have been feeding breitbart etc for years, made up the benghazi crap, etc.

the name 'hannity' was probably the redacted name between 'rhona graff' and 'john hawker' in the mueller report - as 'harm to ongoing matters'. why? stone, corsi, and credico are long time talk radio operators - not social media experts.

over them. It's distressing how much some of our candidates are bending over backwards to recruit these people. They aren't part of the problem. They ARE the problem and nobody is willing to tell them that their prejudices and unwarranted hates are exactly why things have progressed so far down the rabbit hole that we are pretty close to not having a way back. Hillary was right when she called them deplorable, that's what they are and they are dead set on staying exactly that way. If they weren't impeachment proceedings would have began about 6 months after his stupid ass was elected. You can't look at any of this and think "yup, this is ok" without being a complete asshole.

they complain about black/brown people in major cities of the world . they complain about lgbt , feminists .

they talk positively about russia and similar white countries that tend to be without much freedom and hostile to minorities . i always bring up how those countries are losing populations and they are trying to go to the so called "black/brown" cities like london, paris, nyc etc.

They lost in the American court system, so now they want to throw that away for a system more like Russia's, where these people can still be persecuted, if not executed. We need closure on that aspect first before we can draw conclusions on what this nation is.

In 2016, as the general election approached, I desperately wanted to believe President Obama's portrait of America. I was so scared trump would win, but when pres Obama said it wasn't going to happen, I thought to myself, this is a man who has traveled all over the country and interacted with thousands of Americans of all races. I was heart broken and disappointed when trump was given the victory, but what if it was fraud? What if we're not what it looks like?
