I just want to note that the states trying to pass laws to forbid any kind of abortion tend to have the death penalty, which I prefer to call pre-meditated murder.

(25,848 posts)I suspect that the vast majority of those who call themselves "Pro life", meaning they oppose a woman's autonomy, support the death penalty, or as I like to say, premeditated murder. I think they need to be challenged on this at every possible opportunity.

(205,202 posts)I feel compelled to say "that must mean they oppose the death penalty," even if it's on TV and I'm talking to myself. Odd, I know, but it makes me feel better to say that.

Notice that the states enacting this idiot laws are doing nothing to end the death penalty in their state.
So with all do respect, your assumption is backward.

(757 posts)Pretty grim. The hatred for women is so high, that even miscarriages are suspect, and women will be interrogated. Can you imagine, going to the hospital for a spontaneous abortion (as has happened to me and millions of women) and the police are called, you are now a suspect criminal, and if found guilty, 30 years in prison.
The law in Ohio is even worse, "no exception for rape or incest." Go read the diary, an 11 year old girl, abducted and raped, now pregnant will probably be forced to full term, which is life-endangering at that young age. Also, the prosecutor blamed the girl - saying she acted "delinquent."
I don't see how this could hold up in court, yet real men and women drew up these bills, they have become laws. Horrible laws, more that we must fight against. And our *president* stands up there and tells lies about women/doctors wrapping live babies in blankets and then killing them. Just evil.
edited: added to include the Ohio law as well.

(43,049 posts)criminals are executed for the crimes they willingly committed while fetuses are the innocent victims. As long as they believe life begins in the womb, they won't listen to any arguments against that.
Personally, I consider the two things completely separate and should not be compared. l prefer to argue about supporting the child, and its family, that they insist should be brought into the world.
