Right-wing commentator and radical conspiracy theorist Chris McDonald closed out his “The MC Files” program on Tuesday night by asserting that the shooting at a Colorado high school earlier that day “was a Masonic ritual.”

“I picked up on something quickly,” McDonald said. “Twenty seven. Two suspects, seven injured, that’s 27. And that’s 3 x 3 x 3. It was a Masonic ritual, a Masonic thing that took place today in Colorado.”

“I guarantee you,” McDonald continued, “there will be gun-control drums that’ll be beat over the next 24 hours, the rest of this week, somebody is going to come out and call for gun control. Folks, this is a distraction. It’s a Masonic attempt to control this nation, an in-your-face ‘blank you’ to this country, and we see through it.”

For the record, there was one person killed and eight injured in the shooting, with two suspects arrested, which would seemingly undermine McDonald’s assertion that the “two suspects and seven injured = 27” was a symbol of secret Masonic numerology.

On Monday, we noted that Dave Daubenmire will be joining other right-wing activists in protesting outside the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York, over Memorial Day weekend to demand that President Trump arrest Hillary Clinton.

On his “Pass the Salt Live” webcast this morning, Daubenmire proclaimed that The March for Equal Justice, as the event is being called, is an act of spiritual warfare so significant that the angels in Heaven are scalping tickets to get a front row seat to watch what goes down.

“The FBI will be there and the Secret Service,” Daubenmire said. “Why? Because they’re going to try to force you to not do it. Don’t you see? Can’t you see the contention happening in the natural realm as a result of what is going on in the spiritual realm?”

“I’ll be those guys up there, they’re selling tickets to watch,” he added. “I’ll bet they’re scalping ’em. ‘I got a front row seat, I want to watch our boys fight down there on earth, I want to watch that.’ You think I’m crazy. I think that’s what’s going on.”

I used to find the conspiracy theory bs amusing, now it just pisses me off. Too many people take it seriously.

Most of the men on my Mom's side were Masons and the women were Order of the Eastern Star (we're St. Clairs, so it goes way back). They all strived to improve themselves and their communities. They were good men and women who did good works. Seeing nutjobs try to tar their legacy for profit, attention, and clicks makes me both angry and sad.

Many many legends about how the Mason started. Suffice it to say that Masonry has an honorable tradition going back to the Enlightenment and the Age of Reason in the 17th and 18th Centuries. Many of our founding fathers were Masons.
