Yes, she deserves the prize. But, couldn't they mail it to her? Yikes.

(2,102 posts)I knew a reporter who was on a smallish plane with Ted Kennedy. Said reporter had a weak stomach for carnival rides and other things that made for a lot of movement. The motion of the plane caused the reporter to throw up on Kennedy's shoes.

with developmental disabilities at a table behind me screamed and i had been traumatized and retraumatized and was developing ptsd at the time and i reacted to the outburst by losing control of my tray of water, everything slowed, which spilt on the customers I was serving. Don't know why i didn't just drop the tray before i got to the table. I remember the slowest drip of water making its way down a VIP's nose. Not a fine moment for me. But I can laugh at myself so I got over it pretty quick. Both customers were very nice about it. I saw the colleague of the VIP a week later and said "did you hear what I did?" And he laughed and said "Not you".

(1,402 posts)She is an inspiration and a heroine. Only wish we had a few more like her in our government. Just shows age doesn't matter when you're living up to your ideals.
