1. it seems to me to have entered the conventional wisdom

that he should be/could be impeached, and the only question now is will we do it.
now everyone is trying to game out the blowback and the risks. if people thought there would be none, we would be on the way. but everything has become so damned unpredictable that there needs to be complete certainty that it wont bite us in the ass.

6. Absolutely! Slowly but surely the objections are falling away and...

impeachment is becoming viable. We are close to the tipping point.

My guess is that there are furious backroom discussions and vote countings going on, and when enough Senators are reliably on board, the axe will fall.

Don't doubt for a minute that Senate Republicans with two brain cells or more are sick of Trump and just waiting to make sure their own seats aren't in danger.
