The Democratic solution is to send the Army and spend $1.2B of tax dollars. The Republican solution is to start a faith-based charity and give tax cuts to encourage people to donate. Thats what they do, and it ends up costing the taxpayer 10 times as much as if wed followed the Democratic solution in the first place.)
This morning I learned the joke has over 3200 upvotes on Quora.

(692 posts)I don't have the numbers in front of me but after Hurricane Katrina, studies showed that outsourcing government services to private contractors and charities resulting in a far less thorough clean-up in New Orleans...

(50,528 posts)But you get the gist: anything you entrust Republicans to do costs 10 times as much and takes three times as long as the same thing if Democrats would have done it, and fewer people get hurt if we handle things.
