He was being treated for multiple myeloma but died because he had a bad fall at his house and bled into his skull.
I am sad that he died but even more impressed by how life calls us back to death by odd notions.

(4,440 posts)I found out a few days ago, on Facebook, that someone I worked with for years had died. A sudden illness followed by death, only 40 yrs. old.
Always a sadness.

(15,139 posts)after a kidney transplant that he was up for a vacation to Europe. Shortly after arriving, he stepped off a curb in Amsterdam right into the path of an oncoming truck. After 6 weeks in the hospital, his wife arranged a medical transport flight back to the states, where he died a couple of weeks later. You just never know. Condolences on the loss of your friend. Sounds like he was going through some very rough times.
By the way, my friend's wife received a personal letter from the mayor of Amsterdam expressing condolences and regret for the accident. Blew her away.

(9,352 posts)I often see such odd situations as the end point of a cosmic joke.
You come back from a bad spot and think all is fine, then that truck comes along to prove you wrong.
Life - you never know when that pie is going to hit your face.
