Kind of reminds me how in later life Judy Garland wouldn't emerge from her trailer if parameters weren't exactly right.

(48,918 posts)Also a safe bet that he'd like to tweet about what Stern said, but is worried about what Stern might say in response.

-snip-
When asked by Stephanopolous if he felt that he had aided Trumps victory by giving him an unfiltered platform, Stern replied: Absolutely.
I wanted to see Hillary Clinton win," Stern said. "If she had come on the show the way I helped Donald was I let him come on and be a personality. Whether you liked him or not ... people related to him as a human being."
-snip-
Stern told CBS Sunday Morning in an interview broadcast on May 12 that Trump had asked for his endorsement, which the radio legend said he couldnt do. Stern had also declined the opportunity to speak at the Republican National Convention in 2016 and expressed his support for Clinton.
I had to say to Donald on the phone, it was uncomfortable, 'I can't endorse you.' And I haven't heard from him since ... We don't talk at all, Stern told CBS.
Btw, although it's not mentioned in the article, Stern also said in the interview that he thought about accepting the invitation to speak at the RNC and then using his speech to endorse Hillary Clinton, but he decided against that.

gratuitous
(82,849 posts)But Stern's implication that Trump didn't win all on his own will make Stern persona non grata for Trump. I'm guessing Trump will try to ignore Stern's comments, because Stern has access to the media nearly as equal to Trump, and if there's anything Trump hates it's a fair fight.

(7,521 posts)Stern's got a decent core, but he is not above doing what he can to get the trash talk. He will always be "best buds" with anyone in the studio so long as they keep answering questions and giving him the dirt.
That's his show and his persona though, and I don't fault him for being on-brand.
I don't know how much has changed since he went on Sirius.

(11,562 posts)Since he doesn't read, isn't capable of learning, thinks he is already smarter than others, trusts his own instincts, blows off his security briefings, would sell his support to whoever and whatever will reward him the most personally, is so biased and corrupt he can't see straight--we should be relieved he isn't actually working. He does enough damage as it is.
