The abrupt swing from the best to the worst tells us that the worst has been lurking underneath for a long time. We can't let up for a second because the worst will always surface, given the slightest chance. It's the monster under the bed, but it's real.

In terms of representing our ideals and serving his oath with honor and dignity, sure. He was the best.

But otherwise, what is the lasting legacy of the Obama era? What hasn't been walked back? The crippled-by-congress ACA? The GOP congress obstructed and lied while Obama extended his hand in bipartisanship over and over and over.

it seems to me was, the yearning to do the right thing. To try and say we can look beyond color.

I agree with you that we didnt achieve all that we could have, but we had good intentions.

With Trump it's the demoralization of America. Reveling in having bad intentions. Gloating about it even.

tea party assholes thought Obama was destroying everything that made America great.

their racism and selfishness have carried the day. when the pendulum swings back, they're not going away.

The largest stimulus ever to revive a sick economy

Over four million homes saved for homeowners by an Obama program named HARP - which cut thousands off their annual mortgage payment

Real bank reform to replace the antiquated piss-weak Glass-Steagall

Saved the US auto industry

Recovered TARP plus over $300 billion in interest and fines

Universal healthcare (sabotaged at the state level by the GOP)

Killed bin Laden

I could do a dozen more but you should get the picture by now.

Most of those successes were in the 1st 2 years, before our fellow Americans handed control of the house back to the Money Party.

Don't forget, the ACA was also sabotaged in the Senate by Rubio.
