Garbage disposals were illegal in New York City until 1997, so it’s hardly surprising that she never saw one. I don’t even think our condo at Trump World Tower, built in 2001, had one.

2. I'm the only member of my family that has a garbage disposal and I was in my 40s when I got it.

Sad to say but it seemed to us that rich people had disposals. I know very few people who have them. I know they aren't that expensive but when you struggle to make ends meet, several hundred dollars is better spent elsewhere.
