Quit calling it "Anti-abortion". Or "Pro-Life". It's the FORCED-BIRTH movement.

It's not about "saving babies" when you're talking about a fetus so impaired it will die within a few minutes of birth anyway-- AFTER killing the mother.

It's not about the "innocent unborn" when the conceptus was forced on a newly-fertile 11-year-old by an adult subhuman rapist.

It's not about "life" when you're requiring a human being to use their body as an unwilling receptacle for an unwanted pregnancy and all its metabolic, psychological, economic and social consequences.

It's about controlling women.

It's about denying them agency.

It's about "valuing" the potential life of a blastocyst above the humanity and self-determination of a living, breathing, feeling, thinking being-- because of her gender.

It's about FORCED BIRTH.

Which is what masters have always done to slaves. What owners do to livestock.

What Republicans want to do to women.

disgustedly,
Bright

2. Forced-Birth is a good one. At MINIMUM, the position should properly be labeled Anti-Choice

And even Anti-Abortion is a huge logical stretch. Esp. when coming from assholes who are also anti-cheap, available, and effective birth-control.

Pro-Life it sure as F*** AIN'T, by any damn definition.

They are always legislating bathroom bills & abortion/birth control laws..

They don't have time for guns/mental health/general health, education, climate crisis, their own corruption.etc,..

and yes, it is slavery and the response should be to demand compensation for forced work. And forced risk. And mandatory posting of bonds by any male without a vasectomy. Money to be drawn upon in the event of irresponsible ejaculation. For starters.

What I cannot understand is why so many women are against abortions. I know quite a few of these people and I just do not understand this at all.

9. There were a lot of women against voting rights for women, too.

It is bewildering to consider.

That being said, I will go out on a limb here and state that there are some people who are sincere in their belief that abortions essentially kill a living person. I don't agree with that idea, so please do not jump down my throat because I have known a few people whose beliefs could be genuinely described as "pro-life."

I have also known many more hypocrites who come up with reasons why their own unplanned pregnancies were "properly" ended and then years later show up to protest Planned Parenthood Clinics.

Back when I was involved with Campus Life, Youth For Christ, one college age- "Sister in the Lord" told me that she didn't really have an abortion, she was just injected with something that made the pregnancy go away. She was given the money for the injection by a "Brother in the Lord" who was very understanding towards her since his high-school age girl friend had not one, but two, abortions.

But, hey, premarital sex is a sin and using birth control makes it clear that you were planning to sin, not just "carried away" in the moment.

...very similar to the Communists' use of the word "peace". After all, they'd say--you aren't against "peace", are you? The analogy to the clerical fascists' use of the word "life" is almost perfect.
