They're the backwards country.

As Bill Maher once said, "In Alabama, of course, a high school senior is a MILF."

There's a "heartbeat" bill in the works here, too. It will probably pass, this state being the backwards hellhole that it is.

Privacy is enshrined in the FL Constitution, one of the few states with such a provision. The constitution of the state would have to be amended and that takes 2/3 vote which the Repugs will not be able to get. They have tried and tried and tired and failed each time. In fact, even if Roe v Wade is overturned, abortion will still be legal here due to that provision.

I assume they'll contrive some kind of exception or work-around, if the others lose roe.

Every year it's same dumb thing or another - they passed a parental approval law but the courts struck it down due to "privacy". They were able to pass a law allowing pharmacists to refuse to provide Plan B or any type of birth control - so that's fucked up - but my daughter has no problem buying her pills every month and her friend had no issues buying Plan B.
