The Orange Blob said they could send 120,000 troops to the Middle East (Iran) if needed. He added he could said many more if he gave the order.

Just for the record, the total active component of the US Army is currently around 476,000 troops. To send 120,00 or many more, whatever that means, would essentially strip our forces from everywhere else in the world.

Just so you know, because the blob doesn't. The population of Iraq when Shrub invaded in 2003 was 25 million people. Iran currently has 81 million people. It would be beyond endless war.

And unless there's been a change, only the US Congress can reinstate the draft! Which they won't do because this time there are no guarantees that the well connected can get out of it!

Selective Service rules and standards for exemptions have changed drastically since the Vietnam Era, especially those covering school attendance!!!

3. It is interesting to note

that in 1968 the number of US Forces in Vietnam was about 569,000. The entire population of all of Viet Nam was 41 million.

Those numbers tell me if you take all US Forces and commit them to Iran there isn't enough.

Hence, the Draft. Unlikely, but what do you do when you run out of troops?
