General Discussion

...then you MUST SEEK IMPEACHMENT IMMEDIATELY.
Nicole and the talking heads agreed that more and more Dems in Washington are seeing Trump inevitable re-election.
If that is your belief (as an elected Dem or an opinion leader either in the press or some other position) then refusal or hesitation regarding impeachment is...
CAPITULATION to Trump and lawlessness.
Farewell to America as an ideal; as the hope of the world's people.

(7,888 posts)It's an entertainment show, cable networks are ratings seekers. The only way rumpie wins, is if Democrats stay home. We outnumber the Red team.

Me.
(35,454 posts)that they were talking his re-election as inevitable...what they were talking was fear, they're afraid and don't know if anyone can stop him. I detest the hopeless talk about the situation and how the Dems are diminished as weak on defense. How about support and hopeful talk so someone wants to get off the sofa and vote.
And Capitulation talk at this point does evenmore harm. Our Dems are aware of the problems facing them. It's not like they don't know yet so many act as if they don't have a clue that the country is in big trouble. I give them credit for doing their best to save this country against incredible odds and all the sky is falling talk is counterproductive and does nothing but depress and discourage people.

(524 posts)Who would vote Chump guilty in an impeachment trial and make Mike Pence the new president?
Its one thing to listen to the opinions of cable television news pundits; its quite another to take their opinions as gospel.

(25,111 posts)Also, why are they (media) pushing for impeachment?
And no, shithole will have to fight hard for re-election and the rate he and the Republicans are going, it' going to be a very hard fight even tho the cheating, stealing and suppression never ended.

(6,965 posts)KEY POINTS
Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., sat down with CNBCs John Harwood to discuss the challenges he and his fellow House Democrats face in their oversight of President Trump and his administration.
Nadler first took on the future president as a New York assemblyman in the 1980s when he joined the resistance to a massive Trump development project on Manhattans Upper West Side.
Trump won that battle, though his development got downsized. In todays confrontation over potential impeachment, the entire country holds a stake.
After a quarter-century in Congress, Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York stands on the brink of an outsize role in American political life.
As Judiciary Committee chairman in the Democratic-controlled House, Nadler leads his partys efforts to exercise oversight of President Donald Trump and his administration. If Democrats pursue the fourth serious presidential impeachment effort in American history, Nadler would wield the gavel when it starts.

Then you hear/see corporate media idiots like Toad and see (I only watch a few programs on MSNBC and I don't watch CNN, but friends send clips to me of the things discussed on the various shows) several fools over at CNN saying Dems will be in trouble if they go after tRump and and get his base ramped up.
WHAT about the Dem base that was responsible for that BIG big blue wave we just had last fall where Dems snatched the house back in huge numbers? That meant nothing? According to most in the press and corporate media it didn't We may as well NOT have a Congress unless thuglicans are running it. We might as well just have ONE party rule and a thuglican KING running this country

(13,564 posts)...and Nadler's nonchalance today between bites of his lunch seems to be infuriating those who see a clear and present and increasing danger to our Constitutional government.

(32,566 posts)called me today and his observations were: WTF are democrats thinking?! 20+ people running and fighting against each other? He says democrats are doomed because of that and thinks trump will be re-elected just because that's the historical pattern. He's a millennial and thinks Biden has the best shot. He's not interested in trying out a risky nominee like Cory, Kamala, EW, BS, etc.
