(23,965 posts)Well said.
We have seen exactly how much the pro-lifers are willing to do for those who have been born. Nada, zip zilch.

(13,776 posts)There's little to nothing in the Bible about abortion or homosexuality. Or guns, for that matter.
There's TONS about loving thy neighbor as thyself, and "I was hungry and you gave me food," "I was naked and you clothed me," and "I was a stranger and you took me in."
I have ZERO respect for the "religious beliefs" of people who claim to genuinely believe, but who are just MEAN.

They're mean alright. But this shit is also just downright cruel.

(1,639 posts)Thanks for sharing. I would also like to point out that some people prefer animals to people for some of the same reasons. Such folks insist that animals are more loyal and won't betray you. However, they don't question whether they, themselves, are always loyal or have never betrayed anyone.
Since animals don't express political opinions or disagree with one's beliefs, it is easier to love them. . . At least, that's the point that I would have liked to make to my ex-husband, when he stressed how much nicer the dog was than me.

A Methodist Pastor Is Brilliantly Calling Out the Pro-Life Crowds Hypocrisy

Of all the responses Ive seen to Alabamas abortion ban, perhaps the most effective was a Facebook post made nearly a year ago by a Christian minister.
Dave Barnhart is a pastor from Birmingham, Alabama who runs a network of house churches called the Saint Junia United Methodist Church.
The post that went viral over the past week was all about how right-wing Christians love to talk about the unborn because in addition to riling up the conservative base, theres literally no work involved in advocating for them.
