Going out of business: Ascena Retail Group closing all of its nearly 650 Dressbarn stores

Dressbarn is closing all of its stores.

The women’s retailer announced Monday “plans to commence a wind-down of its retail operations, including the eventual closure of its approximately 650 stores.”

Stores remain open along with the Dressbarn website, the company said in a statement.

There are currently 11 Dressbarn stores in Wisconsin, according to Dressbarn's website, including Sheboygan Falls, Rothschild and Ashwaubenon.

Dressbarn is part of New Jersey-based Ascena Retail Group, whose other brands include Ann Taylor, Lane Bryant, Catherines, Cacique and Justice. The company recently sold its Maurices brand.

Reduced number of employees and reduced overhead for facilities might be enough of a change for them to survive in some form.

This fat lady finds nice clothes that fit. Stores rarely have comfortable and fashionable clothes in my size.
