Special counsel's team hesitant about Mueller testifying publicly

https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/21/politics/robert-mueller-testify-congress-negotiations/index.html

(CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller's team has expressed reluctance to him testifying publicly in front of the House Judiciary Committee, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The special counsel's team has expressed the notion that Mueller does not want to appear political after staying behind the scenes for two years and not speaking as he conducted his investigation into President Donald Trump. One option is to have him testify behind closed doors, but sources caution numerous options are being considered in the negotiations between the committee and the special counsel's team.

>>My thought on this is Mueller is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. It will be a battle royal between Dems and Republicans on social media, news, etc. I imagine Mueller looks at this as he did his job, he wrote his report. I, of course, would like to know if he thinks Barr tinkered with his summary letter and mis-represented his report. But honestly Mueller may not engage in that dialogue.

No one is asking him to spin anything. Just be honest.

If he is worried he can testify in front of the Senate committee too

Women are losing their rights everywhere, babies are being caged and Bolton is fabricating news for an Iran war. Frankly Mueller needs to get the hell over his own personal nervousness about anyone perceiving a bias and set his conscience aside for the good of the country.

EVERYTHING in this day and age is political. Yes telling the truth is the right thing to do...but in the age of Trump yes it will be political no matter what. Doing nothing is just as political.

Mueller doesn’t get to make his own rules. He is REQUIRED to appear before Congress in any way that Congress chooses. This pussyfooting is driving me nuts.

I wouldn't want to face the inane bullshit from the Repubs on the committee.

But the only way for him to truly display the content and intent of his report is to publicly report on it before Congress. Otherwise, the Repub spin machine and Faux Nooze will have half the population believing the "no collusion" shit from TrumpCo.
