his over-reaching attempt now to stop the House from its oversight function, he has been telling America that he is guilty, as of far ranging a series of abuses as he attempts to extend his executive privilege.
The idea that a sitting president will be hampered by investigation, leading to prosecution or impeachment, is now being superseded by the fact that a sitting president, weighed down by his own consciousness of guilt, will be compromised as he addresses any presidential duty.
He has compromised himself, in the doing of the deeds, and in persisting against the full airing
they demand, the political consequences they will have earned.
He is now saber rattling to distract, playing with soldiers’ lives, with millions of lives. He is unable to give the American public any positive sign that he is leading us anywhere as he acts on twitterized impulse and only to rile up what he refers to as my voters, not, we, the people.
I am reminded that Edgar Allen Poe is truly the pioneer in matters mysterious.
As in The Telltale Heart, Trump keeps bouncing around the room, scared to death that we will eventually hear what to his ears is a constant and relentless pounding.
