And does anyone doubt that it worked?
We're watching a master of the game at the top of her game.

(28,979 posts)I believe everyone is genuinely upset. I also feel a great sense of empathy for her. But she is not some conductor of an orchestra playing a well-rehearsed score. She's conducting an orchestra without music. I am worried for her and all of us.
I read all her tweets from yesterday. 99.9% of the responses urged, begged, demanded she begin Impeachment Hearings.
More than a dozen other representatives called for Impeachment Hearings.
Again, I respect Pelosi and sympathize with her current dilemma. It is not politics as usual.

(28,979 posts)They are writing the music as they go. She has a good ear. If she is orchestrating this crisis at this very moment, she's doing a great job because the anger is no longer just simmering it is boiling over.
Random Twitter responses? I read hundreds in response to Pelosi's tweets. She is hearing from Americans. They want Impeachment hearings.
Many of us are afraid Trump will destroy the world if we don't do all in our power to depose him.

(28,979 posts)Polls are no more reliable. I like to hear people's voices. I have been listening to the anger of BLue Wave resisters for 2 years. Following Democratic reps and senators' Twitter accounts, responding to their posters, having at least one senator follow me. I have been engaging journalists, pundits, bloggers. I think it is dangerous to dismiss so many people's voices.

(115,858 posts)but Trump is easier to play than a dime-store kazoo. The things that scare him are exactly things he rants about. The bad things he's done are the things he's trying the most intensely and obviously to cover up; it's as clear as gin that there's some really nasty stuff in his tax returns and accounting records. His terror is palpable and he's too oblivious to his own tells to just STFU about what's scaring him.

(16,646 posts)dime store kazoos may be cheap and easy to play, but is someone making expensive, or hard to play versions?
Sorry, my mind wandered for a minute. Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

(839 posts)That was truly masterful of her. I shall enjoy these next few hours as the inside of his hollow skull currently erupts into a humorous version of that time I microwaved a fork.
