(Putin, Kim, etc.) and taking to heart all the flattery and subversion they whisper in his ear, he's convinced himself he can really be as "great" as they are.

One can be certain Kim and Putin have fed into his delusions about the press, his paranoia about threats from within, and goaded him into taking ever-more authoritarian control because he is "a great leader" and "his country needs him to take control."

would rule for Trump on this one. Would probably be 5-4 in favor of congress. With Roberts being the one to vote against Trump. Shouldn't be that close though a case like this should be 9-0.

Even Gorsuch and Kavanaugh aren't that far gone (both have them have sided with the liberal four on a few cases so far) - and they aren't beholden to Trump because they have lifetime appointments and he can't fire them.

a heart beat if they were paid the right figure, bc, that's what soldiers for hire do. Think I'm exaggerating? See Blackwater in New Orleans /Hurricane Katrina. BW already went there. 15 years ago.

And they are sworn to defend this country from enemies foreign and domestic. Even if that enemy is the President.

because he will think there will not be enough votes in the senate to remove him from office and he will probably be right.

He won't be the one physically turning over his tax returns. That, I presume, would be the IRS chief. So unless he's willing to go to jail for Trump then Trump will have no power or leverage left to stop it.

Personally I think if this makes it to the SCOTUS it will be a unanomous decision against His Majesty. And there is always a chance SCOTUS will refuse to hear it.

because he doesn't have physical custody of them (except for copies). But I could see him defying an order to do something he does have control over. Nixon had physical control of the tapes; the question came up even in those days whether he would obey the Supreme Court and cough them up, which he finally did. If there are records only Trump has and that he's ordered to produce, I bet he wouldn't do it.

But I 'm hopeful this particular situation is slipping away from him. If the courts don't act as a lackey for him it looks like he will be down to relying on the IRS chief to throw himself in front of the bus that could be just about to run Trump over. I hope...
