Trump is refusing to do the work he promised on issues like infrastructure and drug prices as long as Congress keeps investigating his crimes and corruption.
Trump angrily stormed out of a meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday after demanding that Congress stop investigating his administration's crimes.
"Trump walked in to meeting with Dems on infrastructure, did not shake anyones hand or sit in his seat," HuffPost reporter Igor Bobic tweeted Wednesday, citing a source familiar with what happened.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Trump will refuse to continue his promised negotiations with Democrats in Congress on infrastructure and drug prices until Congress finishes its investigations into him.
"[Trump] objected to the continued investigation of obstruction of justice, he said he cooperated and gave his side of the story, as weve heard before, said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), who was present for the unprecedented meltdown.

(3,131 posts)Losing the court cases and having details come out is getting to him. It is not just the evidence of crimes. He has made a fetish of NDAs.
He lacks any real confidence and is afraid of ridicule when people learn more about what a failure he is. More, I think his father ingrained in him what a grotesque loathsome person he is and he is terrified that will be exposed. But we already see it.
This is a dangerous time. I hope the supreme court upholds the decisions.

(1,990 posts)Yet another "out", but they will refuse to take this one to.
"President Trump has been give more than two years to come around and act Presidential, but this is the final straw. Congress is an independent, co-equal branch of government who has the Constitutional authority to perform oversight on the Executive Branch. Mr. Trump's now "refusal" to act as President unless Congress cease investigations indicates he no longer wishes to be President. While we promise to continue his agenda, it is with great sadness that I have concluded he can no longer be President for the good of the future of America. The Senate will vote to remove him from office if the House passes Articles of Impeachment, unless he would like to do the country a favor and resign now. God bless."
How hard would it be for Mitch McConnell to issue such a statement? Its not hard to explain to his cult that if he is refusing to act as President, he can't be President. And again, he was elected by RANK & FILE REPUBLICANS, not "his base". God damn it, would people forget about his damn "base" that is hardly 15% of the country?
