1st of all. I'm sure like most of you I noticed how this came on strong in the debates with HRC, when he's especially anxious.

2. he's talking about the calls the day of the Trump Tower meeting.

And he gives it away. One call before the meeting, two calls after.

I believe he's trying to harp on the idea that a bigger 'deal' wasn't made of the apparent fact that Jr. wasn't talking to Donald on those calls, per the Mueller Report.

Of course, if the meeting room had a direct link to IQ45 in the first place ... not much purpose to a phone call.

Nevermind that it's in no practical sense 'relevant' whether Sr. and Jr. talked on the phone before or after the meeting. You'd have to know the content of the calls.

He wants people to think that 'if we didn't talk on the phone, I must be innocent'. Which is of course bullshit.

Only Trumpists have so little grasp of the basic tenets of what we call 'logic' ... that they'd buy into this explanation.

7. I hate to say it but it's completely out of context.

I was making my bed and couldn't turn the TV off fast enough to avoid catching this bit. He was actually saying that the fake news had kept reporting that little donniejr had called a blocked number before an after the meeting but it turned out that he called two other people. Now that last bit may well be a lie, but he really didn't say that his twit of a son had called him those times.
