The truth is that neither Trump nor Barr want to be impeached.

Trump has been acting as if he really wants to be impeached. It will be to his political advantage, and that is all that matters.

But, with all the talk of impeachment and the introduction of the words, "cover-up", into the discussion, it was more than he could handle.

He doesn't want to be impeached. It would be a blemish on his narrative of his presidency. It made him very angry.

The same with Barr. He decided he would cooperate with Adam Schiff's Intelligence Committee after all. He would release the counter-intel information that was not in the Mueller Report that was released. He doesn't want to be impeached. But it may be already too late?
