Trump biographer Michael D'Antonio: Trump's Pelosi rant was a 'planned tantrum'

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/05/donald-trumps-rant-against-nancy-pelosi-was-a-planned-tantrum-trump-biographer/

“What does Trump erupting look like?” CNN’s Brooke Baldwin asked.

“I think the president erupting looks a little bit like what you saw in the Rose Garden,” D’Antonio said. “He is very easy to anger. I think he enjoys being furious. I think he enjoys scaring people. So when I think about Trump, I think of a man who rarely draws a sincere breath, but when he’s angry, he is generally sincere. Now, I believe this display was a planned tantrum.”

“Planned tantrum?” Baldwin emphasized.

“This is a very emotional display; this is a way of shaking things up. He wrote in the Art of the Deal that you have to be ready to walk out. He was probably looking for the opening to do this. And he got the opening, and he took it,” he continued.

D’Antonio then said that Pelosi will not back down and that she is not intimidated by Trump’s anger.

you could tell it was staged, and it even had hand outs for the press.

More Trump "reality" TV.

People in office aren't scared by Trump. They are likely scared of what he could do in a fit or rage or impulsiveness, but his bully tactics aren't working with Pelosi or other Democratic leaders. I am sure people are shocked that he could so dishonor the office of the presidency by acting like a spoiled 3 year old, but they likely laugh at his antics when debriefing.

"Poor me, mean Dems are attacking me and now I can't perform my presidential duty of serving all of you wonderful Americans" is his current excuse for doing nothing but tweeting and golfing and watching TV.

The problem with that "strategy" is that there isn't another Congress down the street to try to do business with. The one you have is the only one there is, and in the last four months the House has suddenly become a lot more demanding in its dealings with the president, and they don't seem to give a fuck if he stamps his little feet and storms out of the room.

Sitting there, waiting for Needy Amin to show up, and noticing that there wasn't a chair for him. Someone had to have guessed that the meeting wasn't going to come off. How tempting was it to just pack up everything and leave some administration flunky behind to explain to the Emperor Trump that everyone was annoyed he was late and left.
