Can anyone explain to me why holding the Brexit vote over and over was expected to achieve anything?

. . . if anyone can explain why all these repeat votes are fine, but a second referendum seems to be out of the question, I'd be most grateful.

Quite honestly it is very hard to understand the whole Brexit fiasco looking from the outside. Any detailed look tends to find that there is this basket of complaints that were all represented as being solvable by leaving the EU. They aren't even always related complaints, but somehow people have convinced themselves that their particular complaint, or fear, or concern will somehow be improved by Brexit.

given the correct information to make the best decision. Too much Nigel Farage/Russia lies and propaganda and not enough real facts.
