of not impeaching. Pence wouldn't be able to become President and pardon Trump and others for Federal crimes.
So instead of having Trump out of office, but pardoned, and still acting as a kind of power center (because he never gives up -- he wouldn't just resign and slink away, like Nixon) he would be tangled up in endless criminal trials and probably also in prison.

... senate not impeaching him and holding them responsible for an unpopular crook in the white house.

Continuously investigating him the whole time. Then the SDNY can slam him and his kids with charges. Keep running with the theme of "Our hands are tied because of Republican obstruction!"

We will win if we impeach Trump, even if the Senate refuses to remove him.
