President Donald Trump has spent 174 days of his presidency at golf courses that he owns, mainly Mar-a-Lago in Florida and Bedminster in New Jersey, racking up a bill to the American taxpayers that has topped $102 million.
The cost of every Trump weekend trip to Mar-a-Lago comes to $3.4 million, according to the Huffington Post, which used figures developed in a recent Government Accountability Office report. He has taken 24 trips to and stayed 61 days at his Florida resort.
The public pays $57,000 for Marine One helicopter flights, $800,000 to transport 7-ton presidential limousines and other vehicles, and $855,000 for the U.S. Coast Guard to patrol Atlantic waters near the President's links.
Trump will be visiting a golf course he owns in Ireland next month, while on a trip to Europe to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day. He has also golfed at his course in Scotland, with the rental car and motorcade bills to move staff around totaling $1.2 million.
As a citizen, Trump repeatedly criticized President Obama for his trips to the golf course.
