Tired of my hopes getting lifted up then smashed.
Each new revelation about this heinous administration at one time gave me hope something would give. Something would break.
Something would be done.
Now the only thing that breaks is my hope that anything will be done.
The mainstream can just go to hell for all I care.
They love to play us for suckers.

(8,494 posts)Guess that's why I felt my arm was cut off when DU went down. Even then was only occasionally watching Maddow, as even while the network put on all those ostensible Dem-friendly commentators, they never stopped their practice of allowing conservative panelists to frame the narrative and dominate the discussion, buying right into each coded, scripted phrase the hacks regurgitated in unison from show to show to show.

(103,856 posts)and decide that they will show ZERO coverage of DT, live or otherwise, and they will only report the LIES he tells..let the only "coverage" of him be on TRUMP-TV (FOX)..
There is plenty to discuss.. They should be telling people how the government actually "works" and to tell us more about SCOTUS and all the nefarious backstory stuff. And we need a LOT more international knowledge.
There should be ZERO "conservos" on anything but Fox..
They are given credibility for their bullshit notions every time they are on "normal" tv..
Let them all stay corralled in their bubble..

(31,237 posts)and quit watching them. I don't think they know what they're talking about, they're clueless and just saying what they think viewers want to hear.

(38,958 posts)I figured out the Cable News (Noise) Game a couple of elections ago and simply gave up on them completely. They are occasionally useful for a few minutes of major event (Notre Dame Fire, Natural Disaster, etc) video and coverage but for the most part it's simply 24/7 Breathless, Breaking Noise filling airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed.

(507 posts)I cut the Cable Cord over 3 years ago. Working from 6:30am till 6:30pm, to come home, flip through 130 channels turn off my brand new $300 55" television because there's nothing but 'reality' shows on any longer, then receive my Cable Bill, and it's more expensive than my electric bill?!! Uh, no thanks. Hi-speed wireless only, I've had Amazon Prime last 2 years, but when I noticed they've jacked it up another $30 annually, ditched that as well. I like watching movies. I'll subscribe to Netflix next time they have a subscriber special. When I want 'NEWS' I'll go read it online. Just subscribed to NY Times and Washington Post. Forget these Cable Shows that feel that they have to keep you dangling between commercial breaks. They have bills to pay as well. Love me some Rachel Maddow, but even that show gets tiresome after a few months.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
