Jon Voight declares Trump 'the greatest president' since Lincoln

Actor Jon Voight praised President Trump in a pair of videos on Friday, urging Republicans to support the president amid calls for impeachment from House Democrats while declaring Trump "the greatest president" since Abraham Lincoln.

The Oscar-winning actor, who has long voiced support for Trump, said in two videos posted to Twitter that Trump has his and other Republicans' "utmost respect and our love."

"This job is not easy, for he's battling the left and their absurd words of destruction," Voight, 80, said. "Our nation has been built on the solid ground from our forefathers, and there is a moral code of duty that has been passed on from President Lincoln."

"Our country is stronger, safer and with more jobs because our president has made his every move correct," Voight continued. "Don't be fooled by the political left because we are the people of this nation that is witnessing triumph."

Seriously John? What's Trump done besides make racists feel it's okay to crawl out from under their rocks?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Voight#Political_views

Political views
In his early life, his political views aligned with American liberal views and he supported President John F. Kennedy, whose assassination traumatized him. He also worked for George McGovern's voter registrations efforts in the inner cities of Los Angeles. Voight actively protested against the Vietnam War. In the 1970s, he made public appearances alongside Jane Fonda and Leonard Bernstein in support of the leftist Unidad Popular group in Chile.

In a July 28, 2008 op-ed in the Washington Times, he wrote that he regretted his youthful anti-war activism, calling it the result of "Marxist propaganda". He pointed in particular to the massive human rights abuses in Vietnam and Cambodia after the American withdrawal.

In May 2008, Voight paid a solidarity visit to Israel in honor of its 60th birthday. "I'm coming to salute, encourage and strengthen the people of Israel on this joyous 60th birthday", said Voight. "This week is about highlighting Israel as a moral beacon. At a time when its enemies threaten nuclear destruction, Israel heals." On July 28, 2008, he wrote an editorial in The Washington Times critical of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Voight endorsed Republican presidential nominees Mitt Romney and Donald Trump in the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections respectively. In May 2019, Voight called President Trump "the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln".

instincts, intelligence fully intact. Quite good equipment for an older actor. Hardly decrepit. But I am not supporting his political views. He has a right to air them, we to criticize them.

I really tried to appreciate her as a good actor but when she doubled down on her bothsiderism I realized she’s just all ego, just like Trump. I have completely lost interest in her work. I won’t even watch any movie or show she’s in.

While filming "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith and Gene Hackman, his mind snapped and he believed he had become the character he was playing ("Thomas Reynolds," a crooked right-wing asshole working in the NSA).
