Trump says 'I have confidence' after past North Korea missile tests

Trump on Saturday dismissed concerns about missile tests earlier this month and said he had confidence in North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un.

"North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me," he wrote. "I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me."

National Security Adviser John Bolton on Saturday called the North Korean missile tests a violation of United Nations resolutions.

“U.N. Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea from firing any ballistic missiles,” Bolton told reporters in Tokyo, according to the Associated Press ahead of Trump's arrival Saturday. “In terms of violating U.N. Security Council resolutions, there is no doubt about that.”

The president also said he "smiled" when Kim referred to 2020 Democratic frontrunner former Vice President Joe Biden has a "low IQ."
