Democratic groups gear up to use abortion rights as attack on GOP in 2020

Democrats are gearing up to use abortion rights as an attack against Republicans in 2020, seeking to paint the party as too extreme after the passage of sweeping laws restricting the procedure by GOP legislatures across the country.

Presidential contenders, including Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), are already taking the issue head-on, most recently joining the Democrats’ condemnation of a comprehensive abortion ban signed into law in Alabama that bans the procedure in almost all circumstances, including rape and incest.

Democratic groups are mobilizing as well, hoping to put the abortion debate front and center in state and local races in 2020 as they look to put Republicans on the defensive at a time when the GOP lost the House last year, in large part by losing suburban female voters.

Abortion was already expected to be a key issue in 2020 as anti-abortion rights advocates grow hopeful of overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade decision in the Supreme Court after the appointment of two new conservative justices by President Trump.
“We are buckled in. We are ready to go, but we’re not going to be playing defense,” Jennifer Holdsworth, a senior political strategist for the Democratic firm MWWPR, told The Hill.

But GOP stands for Gawd's own party.

If they have a miscarriage they can be imprisoned.
If their life is in danger from an ectopic preganncy, too bad.
If your birth control fails, you'll be a mom. Even if you're married and have all the kids you can handle. Even if your spouse is out of work and you can't afford more mouths to feed.
If their daughter is raped at 11, tough, you'll be a grandma to the rapist's kid.
If she wants to move out of state in some extremist states, too bad, she must stay and the rapist gets visitation.
If your doctor performs an abortion however necessary for any woman, he can be prosecuted.
With Trump in power, the Supreme Court is increasingly controlled by extremists who value eggs over women's lives and may soon outlaw all abortions everywhere in the U.S. making criminals of women and their doctors.
More women will die from illegal abortions, too.

If that frightens you, there's one way to stop it: vote Democratic.

These attacks will undoubtedly center around white female voters. That group has shown itself to be as a dedicated base to the DEM party, especially when it comes to voting for white female presidential candidates.

I hope I'm wrong, but the same thing on the ballot in 2020 was on the ballot in 2016.

Pretty much all elections held since the mid-terms show dramatic turnout increases. The recent legislative attacks on reproductive rights should by all rights energize Dems even further...this election as always will be about GOTV. Last election was about health care...this one will be about health care and reproductive rights and the rule of law.

And for the record f**k The Hill.
