<p>A Soldier of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) plants a U.S. flag in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during a severe storm for Flags In at Arlington National Cemetery, May 23, 2019. Flags In is an annual military operation carried out by The Old Guard before Memorial Day weekend in which Soldiers plant over 245,000 U.S. flags at the graves of Arlington National Cemetery. ARLINGTON, Va. (ABC7) On Thursday, Arlington was hit hard with rain and wind with gusts up to 70mph, but that didn't stop one man from honoring the fallen.

A Tomb Sentinel withstood torrential rains and wind gusts to honor the fallen at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Sgt. Maryam Treece was there to witness the moment.
