The NE saw one of the biggest tornadoes I think I have ever seen, don't know yet how big it was. The warned area was about 8 blocks from my place. It went from there to Lawrence where is caused a lot of damage and then on to Kansas City. It tore up a lot of houses, trees were everywhere and apparently took out a toll booth outside of Bonner Springs. It got into Kansas City, Ks but I think it was dissipating when it crossed into Missouri. At this point I do not know much else because there have been tornadoes all over the NE and EC Kansas. Round 2, the storms they were actually worried about all day, look to be cranking up and headed back our way. I don't know what we are going to do with all this water but I would rather take that than lose my house. Living in Kansas has always been like this though. Gotta be tough everywhere, this is our particular menace, everyone has something. Wimping out is just not going to get you through something like we saw today.

They were showing pictures from all the cameras all over the area. It was rain wrapped and then all of a sudden you could see the definition of it as it peeked out. It was HUGE. It looked a mile wide. There was video from the KCTV5 helicopter after it had passed us that was astonishing, you could see the colors and the movement inside the beast. I bet those will all be available soon if not already. I was amazed and this is old stuff at this point.

Getting ready to hunker down as the next storm barrels in up 35 highway. As I told a friend, I am not putting my clothes back on and I am not going to stop drinking.

From a safe place like a basement or central bathroom. Nothing is worth risking your health and safety. And you may have neighbours who need your help tonight. You just don't know.
