Mueller's speaking voice is not what I pictured
I thought his voice would've been deeper. I heard his voice and at first thought someone was dubbing it. I was just surprised is all.

3. He only had 10 minutes of remarks, yet he still had to read them, word for word.
Any prosecutor knows reading your statement makes it less impactful, and less believable. They avoid reading from notes if at all possible. He must have been really nervous to not trust himself to say such a short statement correctly.

2. It used to be deeper. He sounded very flinty today, like a tired old man. Because he is, I guess.

When he walked away from the podium, I could SEE that he is 75 years of age, and that this report took a LOT out of him.

4. I appreciate what Mueller said but I saw him as nervous. These things come across in more
significant ways than we realize.

7. I expected Robert De Niro...
...from Saturday Night Live.
I also was taken aback a bit with the meeker tone. |

8. Slight quaver in his voice. Could be nervous, tired. Then again, unwell?

9. He's under more pressure than most of us could take
And the entire time he was doing the investigation he was aware that Trump was determined to fire him. Then his good friend, Barr, doesn’t let him finish the investigation. Then Barr redacted the report and released only his, Barr’s, summary of the report and Trump preempt the entire report by declaring Mueller said he was innocent.
I wonder how most of us would handle it. He’s probably extremely exhausted. He had to be thorough and truthful AND he had to keep it quiet. No leaks allowed. And even after the report is finished we don’t hear of a single leak. Few people know that kind of sustained pressure. He brought down some big names too. Some who are doing time now. His work will bring down more people, including Trump, in time. |

10. De Niro does Mueller
I wasn't surprised because I'd seen this. De Niro comes in about 3:25.
