Media! Please don't get punked anymore participating

In these sham "hellicopter news conferences"

Demand that you will participate in a quiet room where the public can actually hear the questions or don't show up.

Trump is doing this on purpose! Think about it. He has 15 minutes to talk. Why is it that this 15 minutes always and only happens when he is ready to go somewhere? And always there is helicopter noise! Can't the helicopter pilot wait to start it's engine? Of course they can.

Just saw his one from today. Could not hear anyone except one guy who yelled it. This allows trump to answer in any way he wants. He can obfuscate and riff about anything he chooses.

It also falsely makes him look so busy and important..rushing off like to an important meeting (Mara Lago to golf and eat McDonald's)

Especially during the height of Iran-Contra, Reagan would shrug to reporters because he couldn't hear the questions, and then board the helicopter without answering them.

And trump is not just shrugging and walking away. He is blatantly staging a one sided rant. And the press is getting played.

President Trump has only had one official solo press conference in his first year in office – far fewer than any of his modern predecessors.

The nonprofit American Presidency Project, which collects data on presidential press conferences dating back to the Nixon administration, noted the single press conference, which took place on Feb. 16.

Comparably, Barack Obama held seven in his first year in office, while George W. Bush held four.

Here's how everyone else stacked up during their first years in office:

Bill Clinton: 11
George H. W. Bush: 27
Ronald Reagan: 6
Jimmy Carter: 22
Gerald Ford (who only served from August to December in his first year as president): 4
Richard Nixon: 6

to help St. Ronnie avoid questions when he was suffering from dementia, or alzheimers. Maybe this is a subtle hint that IQ45 is impaired, too??

is that they're all chickenshit.

None can stand being called on their bullshit. I encounter this regularly with everyday Rethugs. They all exist in a tightly closed information bubble which does not allow questioning or rational discussion from any source and they do not have the guts to question that which comes from within.

Republicans use their power to create their own reality, then protect it with a very think layer of bullshit. This method has been learned via right-wing media by millions of their minions and they use this technique to deal with everyday problems.

Trump - like his parallels around the globe (Russians, Chinese and the UK's Tories, etc.) use the power their people gave them (or that they've commandeered) to totally control media exposure.

consciousness at all.

Trump definitely knows media. Guess he accidentally absorbed it during the Apprentice. Think he slipped one time during the Acosta deal. Said, “no problem, we’ll just turn his mic off.”

Well said. There's no social consciousness outside their bubble. They really seem to exist in an isolated world and see anything external to it as alien, almost as if it's a separate sovereign nation or comfort zone of sorts. Democrats and Independents are then treated as dangerous foreigners.

Very convenient for use in selling and executing their political platform. We must work toward breaching that bubble and tearing down divisions in our nation.
