House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that Republican lawmakers had come up to him privately to express their deep concerns and worries about the Trump administration and offer bits of encouragement, Politico reports.
Said Schiff: But Im, frankly, exhausted by the private misgivings. People need to speak out.
He added: I think what we knew, implicitly, was that courage is contagious. But what we didnt realize is that cowardice is also contagious. I think theres been an epidemic of cowardice in the GOP. This president doesnt stand for anything that the Republican Party said it stood for.

(82,849 posts)He should let his Republican colleagues know that he will listen to their gripes for exactly two more days; after that, he's not playing father-confessor anymore. Any Republican who approaches him after that, Schiff will announce their names publicly. Buy a spine, boys.

(115,674 posts)Maybe the fact that he held a town hall in his Republican district and didn't get his head handed to him - in fact, he was applauded - could be a sign that at least some GOPers really could survive politically in their districts if they pull their heads out of Trump's ass. Maybe that's too optimistic, but you gotta have hope. We can't go on like this.
