The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has apparently started referring to carbon dioxide as “molecules of freedom” and natural gas as “freedom gas" , according to its latest press release.

7. Reminds me of the * Administration labeling stuff "freedom" after 9/11.

Shortly after 2001, I was at a German festival in Pennsylvania. The food stand was selling "Freedom Fries". I offered a necessary lesson on how German-Americans were hypocrites for such labeling as during World War I, this country was persecuting German immigrants any chance they could. Examples of labeling ca. 1917: Coney Islands for frankfurters; Salisbury Steak for hamburger, Liberty Cabbage for sauerkraut. (Somehow, nobody wanted to re-label beer.)
