Trump is flailing, again. He ran on the whole "I can fix the immigration problem" ticket.

He's failing, of course. But with no nuance or subtlety in residence, he is forced to fall back on his personal toolbox. The only tool in his box is intimidation. It worked well with small sub-contractors and customers without the deep pockets to fight things out in court, but on the international scene, there isn't a lot that can be done to bend foreign governments to his will short of war or economic threats.

So he threatens economic war. There isn't much Mexico can do to stop the flow of immigrants short of invading her southern neighbors, a decidedly dicey proposition that they don't want any part of.

The only thing Trump can do is wreck things.

1. The man couldn't put together a deal if his life depended on it,

unless part of the deal is major concessions of AMerican rights and properties as part of the offings. His style is break things that have been done, and call it governing. He's way over his head, out of his league, and in cahoots with every axis of evil country in the world.
