The effort is organic. But lawmakers say that, behind the scenes, the pro-impeachment faction is trying to talk other members into joining.

The effort has been described by one lawmaker as organic. But the goal is clear: the lawmakers are hoping to build a critical mass of members that will force Pelosi to choose between defying the majority of her own caucus or moving forward with a process of removing the president from officea step that has not been taken on in more than 20 years.

Ambition and power seeking more like. We certainly can make a really good guess. i remember Cicilline, mentioned in the article, was one of those Pelosi bought off during the battle over the speakership and other leadership positions by creating a new position for him. This isn't about when we impeach but about the usual people using national crisis to make trouble for their own advantage.

Naturally, the ultra left must tout it as some sort of rebellion because Pelosi is a pragmatic progressive.

(67,782 posts)no one specifically has been mentioned. The only Democratic House members who are referenced are those who have recently, PUBLICLY, talked about future impeachment proceedings on television.
They don't say who is conducting the "informal "whip" operations" which most likely aren't occurring.

(67,782 posts)Im probably farther away from impeachment than anybody in our caucus, Clyburn (D-S.C.) told reporters Monday night. We will not get out in front of our committees. Well see what the committees come up with. Ive said that forever.
