Now that we know Ms. Gillibrand sent a effusive letter to the NRA in 2008 looking forward to working with them for many years to come, isn't that just like the Al Franken photo on the plane, or the "hit job" by RW nutjobs saying Al touched them in a way only Al could. Or is all this fake news?
In any case if the letter can be verified, then one has to think perhaps Ms. Gillibrand needs to step away first from the campaign trail and second from her current office.
Amazing what happens when the Dems round up the circular firing squad as Kirsten did for Al, and all the collateral damage that comes from it.

Specifically and with relevance, how are the two equitable?

(6,143 posts)She is too bland and hasn't generated any excitement as a candidate.
But as far as her leaving the Senate, that is just ridiculous.

(54,006 posts)The OP is saying she perhaps needs to step down from the Senate, which I absolutely disagree with.

Trumpocalypse
(6,143 posts)There is no reason for her to leave the Senate based on an old letter to the NRA.

(61,033 posts)She's right down there with Gabbard and the gaggle of unknowns who don't have a chance. She's got notoriety from the torpedoing of Al Franken but that coupled with her blandness on the campaign trail has just not resonated.
Time to winnow the herd.

(61,033 posts)for the most part. She does have a history of shifting her views though. She was once a conservative, pro-gun Dem until it was politically feasible for her to move to the left.
That fact alone is why she shouldn't be in the race for the nomination IMO, not to mention Al Franken.

Trumpocalypse
(6,143 posts)That is a fair assessment of Tweeden but there were 7 other women that accused Franken. One was a former Democratic staffer and an Army vet. Is there any evidence that all 7 were RW nutjobs and were lying? Please provide links to credible sources.
