She doesnt mince words, she allows her guests to speak their minds and shes a straight shooter. Along with Rachel Maddow, those two really are must see tv.

(3,339 posts)Agree on Ari, too. Haven't been watching him as much lately.
kstewart33
(6,551 posts)She gives her guests time to speak and others to respond. They know that so they don't aggressively interrupt for more air time.
Very effective. And you're right, Leghorn - she has a healthy sense of humor.

(14,327 posts)part of the reason I like her is shes a never-Trumper, but she is a Republican. So once Trump is gone, she will go back to being adversarial to Democrats, and Ill go back to not watching daytime TV.
oregonjen
(3,339 posts)However, she has seen her party fall in line behind this mobster. Its got to make her wonder where her party went.
DeminPennswoods
(15,290 posts)for whoever the Dem presidential candidate is in 2020. I don't know that she's a registered Dem yet, but she sure seems to be 100% disgusted with the GOP and what it has become.
She still thinks very highly of GW, so that tells us a lot about her. When drumpf is gone, I doubt I will watch her again as she will go back to being Ms. Establishment Repug.

(2,959 posts)broadcast or post the banter between commercials on line. She keeps hinting how amusing and filthy their language is. Coming from neighboring Orinda, CA via CAL, as so many of my friends did, I have no trouble imagining Ms. Wallace in less guarded moments.
Also I've rarely herd her refer to our party as anything but the democratic party.
She has more than made up for helping to inflict caribou barbie on our unsuspecting world.
Jane Austin
(9,199 posts)She seems like ones neighbor, except smarter and better informed.
She never makes a mistake on facts. She has always already checked them.
And as someone who also smiles while she talks, I appreciate that, too.
I'm watching today's show right now.
Hamlette
(15,412 posts)I have read almost all of the books by Republicans who hate/disagree with Trump and so many of them still dis the democrats. Nicole does not. She often says on her show she will vote for any democrat or their car or bus if she has to in 2020. I've never heard her take a cheap shot at a dem.
She also has smart guests and as was mentioned up thread, lets them talk.
Watch Game Change. Her character is great in that movie. (Spoiler alert: she hates Palin).
The only other Republican who I've not heard trash Dems since they started dissing Trump and republicans in Max Boot. His book is the best because of that IMHO.
Finally, I want to add that some Republicans stay on our side once they become pissed at their party. My Dad was the only republican in our extended family and took a ton of shit for it over the years (good natured, we loved him after all, he was a great guy) but he had a beef with Reagan, left the GOP and ended up further left than any of us. And stayed there for 20 years. It can happen.
Trumpocalypse
(6,143 posts)that the top brass at MSNBC are overjoyed with Wallace. They would love to move her show to a later hour but she refused because the current time slot lets her have dinner with her children.

(14,176 posts)I keep thinking she'd be great in Tweety's time slot, She'd be a perfect, smart lead-in to prime time. Heck, she'd be great in Chris Hayes's time slot, too
LiberalFighter
(51,084 posts)Otherwise, I wouldn't be enjoying watching her. For me, I watch Rachel and Lawrence. I might watch Hayes and Matthews but only from 6:30 to 7:30. Then from 8 to 9 I usually watch CBS.
renate
(13,776 posts)I do too.
I assume they'll continue to love her as her kids get older and maybe she can accept a more prime-time slot. She's excellent... smart, appealing, funny, frank... it's a pleasure to watch her.

Lonestarblue
(10,063 posts)I kept the TV on after Nicoles show, and he just tried to skewer Joe Bidens representative by asking the same question over and over. She smiled and handled it well by refusing to play his game, but it was obvious that he was trying to make a big deal about Bidens change on the Hyde Amendmentas if people arent allowed to change their stances when circumstances change as they have with the many clinics that red states have closed over the past couple of years. Then he moved onto partial birth abortion. There is no such term in the medical community! An intact removal of the fetus is done to avoid possible damage to the woman. I turned the TV off when he started talking about whether Biden had any red lines and would he support third trimester abortions, another Republican myth because such abortions are not whims. They are for the health or life of the mother or because the fetus has severe abnormalities and cannot sustain life.
No MSNBC host should be spreading Republican lies. MSNBC needs to find a better substitute host. Hes a disaster and I wont watch him.

(107 posts)I think she's great. (Also, Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow and Brian Williams are "must see" for me.)
renate
(13,776 posts)I never miss Rachel and I almost never miss Brian Williams. He gets some criticism here sometimes, but I don't understand why. I like his dry humor and he his criticisms of what's going on under this administration are heartfelt, even if (because of his dry delivery) it's not always glaringly obvious. And I record Nicolle Wallace because she has become must-see TV for me in the past few months.
DeminPennswoods
(15,290 posts)They added it and Melber's show, but still not Hayes or O'Donnell.

(569 posts)She was Caribou Barbie's handler and she was dumb as a box of rocks on The View.
Just because she is a blonde, white woman who doesn't like Trump just puts her in the same cartel as S.E. Cupp, Jennifer Rubin and then to a lesser degree, Bill Kristol, George Conway and the rest of these radical rightwing pundits who change their tunes just to stay on the charts.
Ms. Wallace is guided by ratings and sponsors, not by any deeply held political view or moral compass.
(Whew...rant over...) She is pleasant to watch and her hair looks good.

(90,793 posts)It was a match made in Hell, and Nicolle has made no bones about it.
NW admired McCain, worked for McCain, but was assigned to do a makeover on Sarah Palin and it just could not be done.
Nicolle ended up not voting for John McCain at all, because of Sarah Palin. Period.

Based on her history with Palin, I knew she had character. Based on her history with MSNBC, she has developed into a really good journalist with intelligent panelists.
She comes on here at 1:00, and I make sure to record her and Rachel.

very much. I am aware of her GWB and Palin support - but she certainly voted for Hillary Clinton and will vote for the next Democratic President. She has warm feelings for Bush, but I doubt she admires Chaney or Palin anymore.
