Just got back from the MoveOn rally
in Vancouver, WA. It was relatively small--maybe 100 people altogether--but it was held in the same place and time as the weekly Farmers' Market, so a lot of people at least got to hear us. LOL I'd say at least 40% of the crowd consisted of old Sixties Counterculturalists like me.
![]() I took photos, but for some reason my ancient iPhone will not send to my email. I'll keep fiddling with it.... My favorite sign read "Jail to the Chief." ![]()

1. I read Portland rally was small too
I wonder why? I would have gone if i was in the country. Do people not care?

3. Given the mass turnout in Portland
for the Occupy Wall Street movement, I'm surprised and disappointed to hear this. Maybe they were afraid of more police brutality, as happened during Occupy. The Portland police are not exactly known for their liberal views....

9. Best guess most people are waiting.
A dozen investigations still ongoing, court cases still grinding through, the house not ready to act, etcetera. And that's just for those who are paying attention.
Thanks for the report, Trev. You guys made your point to those around and it's right to care. This is real. ![]() |

13. We're making headway, IMO.
Maybe slowly, but definitely surely.
I didn't run into a single counterprotester. |

I enjoyed it. Weather was perfect, too.

5. Just got back from impeachment rally in Santa Rosa, CA. Approximately 60 people. My favorite sign
"Just like Watergate only with stupid people."

10. The fact it was announced within a week is because of the low turn out
Plus in the hot summer people don’t get out. If they have another in September/October and really advertise it there will be bigger numbers. I am out of town but would have attended the rally where I live.

12. Probably true
although the weather was perfect--66 deg and clear--and the Farmers' Market was packed.
But yes, it was rather short notice. I saw a reporter and a photographer from the Columbian there, so it'll make a little news. |
