Does anyone else get the feeling that Democrats are

running scared of Trump and his blowhard followers? Hope Hicks is testifying right now, but refusing to answer the most important questions. I would think that immediately holding her in inherent contempt, putting her in a jail cell until she decides to answer would send a message to all the rest that need to be subpoenaed and testify. We would start to get answers.

The Congress’ oath is to protect the constitution. When any president is violating the law, how is running out the clock on impeachment protecting the constitution?

We Democrats need to start playing hardball. We don’t get respect when we allow Trump and his minions to get away with this shit by us saying, “he has obstructed justice,” but we won’t really won’t do much about it other than complain.

Congress, the Constitution gives you the same amount of power Trump has. USE IT.

Courage without wisdom is dangerous. But wisdom without courage is USELESS.

It seems to me that they’re in a pretty powerless position, at least until we get a few crucial court rulings on our side. They do have something like a dozen investigations up and running that should, eventually, yield tangible results.

We GAVE house Democrats immense power. It's the senate of course. If we'd taken the senate's power away from the Republicans it'd be entirely different. So we have a long, tough battle instead of the short decisive engagement the anxious ones -- egged on by subversive agents -- are yammering for.

will ever get a vote.

If we do not take back the Senate, we are fucked, even if we retain the House and re-take the POTUS.

Only way a Democratic POTUS will get anything (that the Rethugs are against) done would seem to be by Executive Order. That in itself is very problematic. If we win the POTUS but the Rethugs re-take the House in 2020 or 2022, and keep the Senate in both, I predict they MAY (not saying they WILL) go for Impeachment at the first truly possible moment (say an Executive Order that make Rethug's head explode). Then again they just may sit back and simply block shit for 4 straight years. As long as they (the Rethugs) have control of the Senate, we will never again see a Dem-nominated SCOTUS justice approved (not even a vote probably) unless our POTUS picks one that is hardcore RW (which will not happen). I think that stance by them will survive a new Majority Leader when McTurtle dies, retires, or looses an election. Majority leader Cotton...eeeeek . Or even worse, POTUS Cotton

If not, I can picture the Republicans even refusing to confirm a Dem POTUS’s cabinet nominees. They would block literally EVERYTHING. And yes, they would impeach at the first chance. Voters must hold the obstructionists accountable. It’s democracy’s only hope.

If they go after Trump, he's going to throw the kitchen sink at the Democrats, including disclosure of information about anyone who goes up against him. I think most people in Washington, like most people in general, have some secrets that they would rather not be known by everyone. Information is gold in the political world, and if Trump has a lot of information on people in government, those with something to hide aren't going to be enthusiastic about having a battle with him.

Last night’s Nuremberg saw Diaper Don calling for locking up his enemies and defining SC investigation as an illegal witch hunt started by Democrats.

All Democrats need to stand up to Trump now.

debate next week. So, he will be watching. Everyone of our candidates will get to say something to him and know he will hear it.

I have this daydream that the moderator will ask one of them if there is anything they want to say to Trump, knowing that he is watching, and one of them looking at the camera, flipping a bird, and saying—Yeah, Dumb Donald, tweet this!

Great idea about the debate horses, too.

Turn them all into Mr. Eds before Diaper Donnie makes them into glue.

It would be good to see us set the terms of the debate: Traitor Trump is a Bankrupt Unstable Moron.

Ask WHO benefits from the spreading of this loser, defeatist attitude? Certainly none of the anxious people here with whatever weak confidence they might have started with eaten away.
