The article examines the plethora of social media accounts dedicated to providing soft-core porn for the deeply inadequate and rageful, with the agenda of selling them- what else?- MOAR GUNZ!!
Not too surprisingly, most of these well-compensated "influencers" are nylon-skinned, carefully-airbrushed, surgically-enhanced young caucasian females weighing in the range of 110-120 lbs if you exclude the hardware they're displaying so fetchingly in their Instagram and Facebook posts.
As the article points out, the women making a nice income from promoting and displaying firearms in venues where advertising by firearms makers and sellers is legally regulated or restricted, "are not particularly representative of the bigger-picture relationship between American women and guns...On average, a woman is shot and killed in a domestic violence dispute every 16 hours in the US. In 2013, a New York Times investigation focused on women and their male ex-partners found that the federal law requiring the surrender of firearms by people who are the subject of protective restraining orders was hardly ever enforced in most states."
I'm just freewheeling ideas here, of course... but wouldn't it be fun for one or more humorously-inclined social media artisans to create a series of "mirror" posts of these bits of wankfuel, featuring people who represent the CONSUMERS of the wankfuel?
In the same outfits and settings? With the same strokemachines?
I'm thinking especially about the one of the gal in halter top and tight hot pants with the gun strap dangling between her thighs. Could be TOTALLY ROCKED by some big guy who has no inhibitions about body hair...
Imagine those "mirror" posts appearing in the comments streams and as responses to the originals on a regular basis!
