About a month or so ago, Rep. Neal, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, was saying on TV that the law was absolutely clear that his committee had the right to get copies of Trump's tax returns. I read a few weeks ago that Neal was working with a Republican on his committee on some sort of compromise about 401K's and that the compromise had something to do with subpeonaing (or not) Trump's tax returns. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hasn't been brought back up and they'll be going on a summer break before long. Sort of feels like we've been snookered.

(25,247 posts)because they'll show what a great success he is. I believe he said that because he knows that the Dems won't be getting his tax returns. It's his cocky arrogance that just galls me. Somehow he's got to be brought down to his knees and that smugness needs to be wiped from his face.
I believe that his/this time is coming. I just hope it is sooner than later.

Not sure where we stand on the 'getting Mnuchin to allow the IRS to hand over the actual Federal Tax docs' as they're legally required to do.
